The Tempest: A Director's Thoughts

With opening night of The Tempest quickly approaching, we had a few rapid fire questions for director Lindsay Palinsky.

TBM: Why The Tempest?
LP: Because every single character shows growth or change throughout.

Tempest Rehearsals?
It was honestly hard for me to get into a rhythm at first, but I think we are hitting our stride and getting good work done!

Tempest Cast?
Amazing! I'm so thankful for these people who were willing to be pioneers in our first on-stage show in over a year!

Prospero?
Kind of a jerk, but he also kind of has a reason to be.

Is magic real?
Yes.

Shakespeare?
For the masses! Take him off that sacrosanct pedestal!

TBM?
My chosen family for the past 11 years!

Favorite Shakespeare comedy and tragedy?
Titus Andronicus. (It can be both)

Bucket role to perform and bucket play to direct?
Perform: I just want to be in CATS! Direct: The Oedipus Cycle in rep or Eurydice by Sarah Ruhl.

Final words?
She died as she lived: loudly.

The Tempest runs from April 22nd to May 8th, 2021 at The Curtain Theater. Tickets are now on sale. Because we value the safety of our patrons, TBM has implemented COVID protocols with limited seating. Please visit our COVID Protocols page for more information.
